Who Can We Trust? UCC public conversation to explore democracy, polarisation and public trust
Moderated by Professor Stephen Graham, the panel will feature Professor Theresa Reidy, Professor Gillian Murphy, Mick Clifford, and Dr Eoin O’Malley. Open to all, the event will explore how democratic societies can build and sustain public trust amid the growing influence of AI, geopolitical uncertainty and political polarisation.

First national map reveals where Ireland’s coast is most exposed to erosion and flooding
New research provides the first national-scale picture of coastal exposure to climate hazards around Ireland. The study was led by Kevin Walsh, PhD student, and researchers in the DETECT project based in UCC School of Human Environment and UCC Sustainability Institute.

Major €2 million European project invites public to help map the Viking legacy. NorseMap is led by Professor Tom Birkett, Professor in Old English and Old Norse at UCC. Funded by a prestigious €2 million European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant, NorseMap is investigating how the Vikings have been remembered, reimagined and reinvented across Europe.
